Rehabilitation / Injury Management / Return to work

Our team provide the link between the injured worker, nominated treating Doctor and the workplace to ensure that the return-to-work process is implemented in strict accordance with the medical and treatment advice provided. At the time of referral, an LHS case manager is assigned according to their expertise, geographical location and experience working in the industry identified.

LHS case managers have experience in a diverse range of industries including transport, construction, office-work, manufacturing, hospitality, retail, government and many, many more. They are, therefore, very knowledgeable with the issues that may arise in the return-to-work process and are very capable in providing the advice you will require to overcome them.

Once a "return to work goal" has been established with the rehabilitation counselor, the case manager will assist the injured worker with developing job seeking skills including: resume writing, job seeking in newspapers and internet, interview techniques, how to disclose your injury to potential employers, personal grooming and appearance etc. when necessary. If other requirements are identified in the vocational assessment these would be pursued at this time i.e. short term retraining courses, rehabilitation counseling, English as a second language courses etc.

The LHS case manager will continue to work with the injured worker and nominated treating doctor until a new position has been identified and the injured worker is successful in securing work.

At LHS, an injured worker may be referred to one of our Employment Consultants for assistance in this task as they are highly experienced in using some of the WorkCover incentives (i.e. WorkTrial - read more and JobCover Placement program - read more and have strong networks for identifying potential sites for work.
