Return- to- Work Coordination Services

Under New South Wales workers compensation law, category 1 employers (i.e. employers whose base tariff premium exceeds $50,000 annually as well as self insurers, and employers who are insured by a specialised insurer and employ more than 20 workers) must have a Return to work (RTW) Coordinator.

What does a Return-to-Work Coordinator do?

The role of a RTW Coordinator is to assist in the return to work of injured workers and co-ordinate return to work activities within the workplace. This role can be outsourced to Lifeworks Health Services (LHS) P/L.

• By engaging Lifeworks from the day of injury (or as close as possible) claims costs can be reduced ensuring that premiums are kept to a minimum

• Assurance that your organisation is complying with legislative requirements

Services Provided:

• The development of required workplace policy and procedure documentation

• Implementation of policy and procedures through training of all staff

• Developing induction programs for RTW practices

• Ensure that risk management processes are in place to prevent workplace injuries

• Case Management of all Workcover claims

• Overall coordination of RTW activities within the workplace and the injured worker

Skill-set of Coordinator provided by LHS:

• Health- related tertiary qualifications (eg. Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Registered Nurse, Exercise Physiologist, Psychologist)

• Completion of Workcover "Return to work coordination" course

• Experience in workplace occupational rehabilitation working within Workcover legislation

• Experience as RTW Coordinator
